While most who come to visit our small-town lifestyle never want to leave, some often ask what do you do for fun here? Our simple living day to day does not include shopping big box retail stores, or an abundance of fast-food restaurants to choose from, and although our cooperate presence is minuscule and we do not have any malls or bowling alleys, there is so much more to our islands than you can imagine. Most of our after work or school extra curriculars are enjoying the scenery from a sunset cruises on the boat, to people watching from the canal bars, dinners with friends and family, paddle boarding the calm flats surrounding the neighborhood islands, walking the areas to admire the charming architecture, letting the dogs swim in the neighborhood basins, unwinding in the chilled pools after a long day, or simply getting together at someone’s house to catchup. Weekends are always the best time for getting out on the water to fish offshore or deep in the backcountry, tying up at the sandbar, or floating at Alligator Lighthouse.
