Which do you prefer? I do have to say this is one of the most common questions I get asked as a real estate agent in the Florida Keys, and to be completely honest it’s 100% preference. Our ocean and bayfront properties do have the high price tags, but the views are absolutely breathtaking. Whether you prefer sunrise or sunset, these properties tend to be larger plots of land and overlook some of the most pristine waters in the keys.
The ocean side sees more water movement as far as tides and seasons, the oceanfront flats are always moving swiftly with tailing fish, diving birds and playing porpoises. The morning sunrise awaken each day with a golden glow. The charter boats flutter out each sunrise to fish the reef and deep waters and ride the sunset in each evening.
Meanwhile the Bayfront properties tend to include wade in beaches, sandy bottoms and lavish glowing sunsets. The bayfront homes overlook the ever-extending aqua waters that flow deep into the backcountry and everglades. Back country charter boats fill the flats each morning and evening as they head off to catch redfish, trout, snook and others. While the bays are also filled with curious manatees and friendly dolphins, it’s common to find pods of bait flickering the surface and bay and flats boats running around to catch the bite.
Both sides of the keys offer waterfront dining and absolutely stunning sights and relaxing ambiances. The many shades of blue hug each and every bend of the island chains and offer multiple bridges for boaters to go back and forth.
